Special Olympics

The Los Angeles Athletic Club will host a tournament that will allow Wooden Award All-Americans to interact with athletes from Special OLYMPICS Southern California. Creating a fun atmosphere where SOS athletes can display their basketball skills with All-American player.
Schedule, Saturday, April 9,2011:
9:00 am – 10:00 am – Special Olympics Staff and Volunteers arrive.
10:00 am – 10:15 am – Special Olympic Athletes arrive and check into the 7th floor basketball
Court. Athletes will receive jerseys and instructions at this time.
10:00 am – 10:15 am – All-Americans to meet and greet their respective teams.
10:00 am – 10:15 am – Warm-up before 1st game
10:30 am – 11:15 pm – Team # 2 vs Team # 3
11:30 am – 12:15 pm – Team # 1 vs Team # 4
12:20 pm – 12:30pm – Winners of game 1 and 2 warm-up.
12:35 p – 1:15pm – Championship game – winner of game 1 vs winner of game 2
1:30 pm – 2:30 pm – Awards ceremony

The John R. Wooden court located inside The Los Angeles Athletic Club will play host to the Special Olympics Southern California Basketball Tournament Saturday April 9. Along with featuring some of the state’s top Special Olympic athletes, the 2010-2011 Wooden Award All-Americans (men and women will be on-hand as guest coaches. Four local teams will take part in the tournament.
